The amazing tanneries and Bab Boujloud are some of the most interesting places in Fez. We’ll eat lunch at a typical Moroccan restaurant in the ancient Medina. Fez is also renowned as Morocco’s craft capital. On your full-day trip to Fes, you’ll stop at a viewpoint with a panoramic view of the Medina of Fes. After the city tour, we’ll return you to your riad or hotel. Stay in Fes for the night.
We go south through Imouzzer to see Ifrane after a warm breakfast. The city is famous for its cold weather, snow, and homes built in the Alpine style. It is easy to see why it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. The journey then goes to the cedar forest, which is home to the Barbary macaques. Feel free to feed them while exploring the forest. Later, we’ll head to Midelt, where we’ll have some free time for lunch. We then drive to Merzouga over the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and the Ziz Valley. Stops for panoramic views will be made along the trip.
We arrive in the afternoon at the Merzouga Sahara desert. Then you ride camels across the arid desert. You will pause on top of a high dune to watch the sunset. Finally, you make your way to the desert camp. The camp is a cross between traditional nomad tents and the elegance of a hotel. Where you can listen to Berber drum music while dancing around a campfire beneath a starry sky. Dinner and sleeping at the camp.
After breakfast, we leave the desert towards Rissani, known profusely as Sijilmassa, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani is still a large trading center in the Desert region, with the biggest souk lively on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
After a walk in Rissani Souk, we’ll continue to Erfoud, where we’ll visit one of the workshops for fossilized marble. Then we cross Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of the Todra River has carved out a grand canyon through the mountains. The gorges are an ideal place for climbing sports.
Feel free to wander in the gorges and enjoy the beauty of the landscape. Free time for lunch in a nearby restaurant, then we continue to the Dades valley, through Boumalne Dades. a stop at the “monkey paw” rock formation. And a spot atop a mountain overlooking the Dades Valley Pass. dinner and overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll continue our drive to Kalaa Magouna to explore the Rose Valley. Every year in May, a celebration of roses is conducted. A marketplace where residents sell rose-related goods. We continue our journey via Skoura’s picturesque palm trees. Ouarzazate, also called the “gate of the desert,” is our next stop. We’re going to check out the studios where all those blockbuster movies were made.
A trip to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is in order. A fortified settlement that UNESCO has designated as a World Heritage Site. The Kasbah has also been featured in numerous films, such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, etc. television shows like “Game of Thrones.” The next stop is Marrakesh.
Passing across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Stops will be made for lunch and to take pictures at fascinating sites. Spend the night in a traditional Marrakesh riad.
Following a hearty breakfast, we will see the highlights of Marrakesh with a local guide. The city is regarded as one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. The itinerary includes visits to the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque. And a tour around Morocco’s largest traditional souk.
Lunch break at the Jemaa El-Fna Square Later, you visit the Koutoubia mosque and the Majorelle garden. Finally, make your way to your hotel. Feel free to explore Jemaa El-Fna Square on your own.
On our final day together, we’ll do a walking tour of the red city of Marrakesh. Then we’ll take a scenic drive up north to the Casablanca airport, stopping along the way to take in the sights. After that, you’ll be driven to the airport. The tour has now come to an end.
