We go south through Imouzzer to see Ifrane after a warm breakfast. The city is famous for its cold weather, snow, and homes built in the Alpine style. It is easy to see why it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. The journey then goes to the cedar forest, which is home to the Barbary macaques. Feel free to feed them while exploring the forest. Later, we’ll head to Midelt, where we’ll have some free time for lunch. We then drive to Merzouga over the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the Ziz valley. We continue our journey via Skoura’s picturesque palm trees. Ouarzazate, also called the “gate of the desert,” is our next stop. We’re going to check out the studios where all those blockbuster movies were made.
A trip to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is in order. A fortified settlement that UNESCO has designated as a World Heritage Site. The Kasbah has also been featured in numerous films, such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, etc. television shows like “Game of Thrones.” The next stop is Marrakesh.
